This time, when I came to Pudong, Shanghai to connect with the project, I specifically chose the location of my stay at The G Shanghai. Originally, I only thought it was close to the subway and convenient to various business districts. However, after staying, I realized that this is a worry free place tailored for business travelers.
I took the Municipal Airport Line from Hongqiao Station and arrived at the Kangqiao East area in 30 minutes. After leaving the station, I took a taxi for 10 minutes directly to the hotel without any detours or traffic jams. As soon as I entered the lobby with my suitcase, I was immediately caught in the attention of the high-end smoky blue tone. Without the heavy and oppressive traditional business hotels, the delicate texture of Lingnan and the minimalist style of Shanghai blend perfectly, and the restlessness of the journey immediately subsides.
The efficiency of checking in was much higher than expected. The front desk staff took the initiative to remind me of the 24-hour self-service area on the business floor, where coffee and printing services are free. Even the project materials I need the next day can be printed directly downstairs, without the need to temporarily find nearby printing shops. The business room I live in has a spacious area, and the dedicated independent office area is very practical. The spacious desk is paired with soft eye protection lighting, and the high-speed network runs smoothly during cross-border video conferences. Even after modifying dozens of pages of project proposals, there has not been a single lag. The biggest pain point for business travelers is the all-in-one washing and drying machine in the room. When shirts that have been on business trips for several days are thrown in, they are immediately dry and flat when taken out, and customers don't have to worry about clothing maintenance the next day.
After a whole day of docking work, I walked downstairs for 5 minutes to reach the Star River COCO Garden commercial street, which offers everything from chain fast food to specialty light meals. You don't have to take a taxi to have a hot dinner. After a ten minute walk after dinner, you can reach Costco in Pudong. Along the way, you've stocked up on supplies and souvenirs, and the extra large refrigerator in the room can fit all of them, so you don't have to worry about running out of storage space.
The transportation convenience of the hotel is fully reflected in the subsequent itinerary: taking Line 11 for one stop can get to the stations near Disneyland, transferring for a few stops can directly reach the core business districts of Qiantan and Lujiazui in 40 minutes, and the next day meeting customers in Kangqiao Industrial Zone, driving for 10 minutes to reach the destination, completely avoiding the rush hour rush hour. After finishing all my work in the evening, I took some time to swim in the hotel's outdoor swimming pool for two laps, soaking in the cool water. The shoulder and neck pain from the whole day in front of the computer slowly dissipated, and even the tense nerves relaxed.
I used to think that business trips in Shanghai were exhausting, but this time at The G Shanghai, I realized that choosing the right place to stay means not wasting time on commuting or being distracted by trivial matters. Business trips can also efficiently promote work while taking a comfortable break. Next time I come to Pudong for a business trip, I will definitely consider this place as my first choice.Show more
